9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday (except Port-Louis)

Our Customer Relations Center is also available on  +230 207 1000 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Our ATMs remain operational 24/7. 

As far as possible, we recommend our customers to avoid going to branches and instead, use their debit card at ATMs and merchants or our e-banking services.

COVID 19  - Relief Programmes

 
SME/ Corporate
 
The Bank of Mauritius has provided a Special Relief Program through banks to meet cash flow and working capital requirements of economic operators, including Small and Medium Enterprises and small entrepreneurs (including rental of office space), which are being directly impacted by COVID-19 and also to safeguard employment and ensure business continuity. 

Effective date of the program: March 23, 2020 to July 31, 2020.

Who are eligible to benefit from the "Support program"?

  • Economic operators who have been impacted by the Covid-19 and able to prove it.
  • Existing customers, as well as prospects, with priorities granted to existing customers.
  • Customers benefiting from these facilities should demonstrate that they have made every effort not to dismiss their employees.
  • The specific economic operators who are impacted by the Covid-19, able to demonstrate it and who are in activity in the following sectors:

o    Tourism 
o    Manufacturing
o    Export – Oriented Services 
o    Agro Industry
o    SME 
o    Any other sector which has been demonstrably impacted by COVID-19

Conditions for the support program 

Tourism 
Maximum amount of Mur 25M at 1.5% per annum.     
30 months maximum including 6 months moratorium on capital and interets and repayable monthly as from the 7th month.

Manufacturing
Maximum amount of Mur 15M at 1.5% per annum.
30 months maximum including 6 months moratorium on capital and interets and repayable monthly as from the 7th month.

Export-Oriented Services     
Maximum amount of Mur 5M at 1.5% per annum. 
30 months maximum including 6 months moratorium on capital and interets and repayable monthly as from the 7th month.

Agro Industry    
Maximum amount of Mur1.0M at 1.5% per annum.
30 months maximum including 6 months moratorium on capital and interets and repayable monthly as from the 7th month.        

SME*(Including  small  entrepreneurs)            
Maximum amount of Mur 0.5M at 1.5% per annum.
30 months maximum including 6 months moratorium on capital and interets and repayable monthly as from the 7th month.

Any other sector which has been demonstrably impacted by COVID-19 
Maximum amount of Mur 0.5M at 1.5% per annum.
30 months maximum including 6 months moratorium on capital and interets and repayable monthly as from the 7th month.    

*SME: Small and medium enterprises, including small entrepreneurs. 
On existing loans, SME will benefit from a moratorium period of 6 months on capital and interest

Household Loans

In collaboration with the Bank of Mauritius, banks have put forward special initiatives to support those affected by the Covid-19 situation.

Effective date of the Support Program: as from April 1, 2020 
The installments of March remain due, in capital and interest

Who is eligible?

Existing clients with Household Loans in Mauritian rupees and  impacted by COVID-19.

Other Conditions

Household loans include all existing rupee loans which have been disbursed to a Household by a commercial bank. 
Overdrafts, credit cards and other credit facilities such as Leasing are not included. 
This measure will not take into account any arrears on the capital and interest accrued on household loan prior to 1st of April 2020. 

Criteria for the support program 

Households with monthly basic salary not exceeding Rs 50, 000 and having a household loan:    
6 months on capital repayments as from the 1st of April 2020 
The Bank of Mauritius will pay interest on outstanding household loans for the period 1st of April 2020 to 30th of June 2020. 

Individuals drawing a monthly basic salary not exceeding Rs 50,000:
6 months on both capital and interest repayments as from 1st of April 2020 

Individuals drawing a monthly basic salary above Rs 50, 000:     
6 months on both capital repayments as from 1st of April 2020
