Software Developer – IT Applications

Reporting to the Head of IT Applications, the Software Developer carries out all the tasks related to designing, programming and implementing software, applications or IT systems. 

His primary role is to address business needs of the bank users by creating efficient, scaleable and secure technological solutions. As part of IT project, he also works with different suppliers to ensure coordination and technical competence transfer. 

Main Responsibilities

• Understand the needs expressed by the businesses
• Propose and agree on the most appropriate solution
• Plan the different steps of the implementation phase
• Develop the solution in-house, wherever possible, or liaise with the service provider to provide the solution
• Collaborate with IT solution integrator to ensure the customization of existing systems and the development of specific functionalities, in alignment with business requirements and the company’s technical standards
• Liaise with the Technical IT Team to manage the configuration
• Carry out testing and ensure implementation of the solution as per agreed plan
• Produce and maintain technical and functional documents
• Detect and correct bugs
• Develop reports and other in-house solutions enhancements

• Keep up-to-date with software developments tools and technologies
• Show good knowledge of computer software and applications in general
• Show curiosity to assess and analyse of new modules and features of the IT Applications being used
• Continuously improve in the mastery the functional requirements of business lines
• Demonstrate good knowledge of the banking organisation and the Management Information System
• Show ability to manage various projects (initialization, management, coordination, etc.)
• Strong analytical mind and capacity to synthesize 
• Be methodical, precise and responsive
• Ability to work under pressure

Qualifications & Experience Required

• Undergraduate Degree in Software Development or Information Systems with proven ability in programming
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in software development
• Experience with version control tools
• Experience in IT Applications Project Management will constitute a definite advantage
